WORLD TOWN

The 18+ Lazer Tag Tour Feat. Hyper Crush and Far East Movement plus The Cataracs and Dev
...
***Far East Movement***

The Far East Movement hailing from the clubs and streets of Los Angeles, are one of the freshest crews representing the next generation of artists and “fly music.” Members Kev Nish, Prohgress, J-Splif, and DJ Virman have created a huge industry buzz with major companies, radio stations, and club djs worldwide through their international appeal, energetic live shows, and
collaborations with top street wear companies.

***Hyper Crush***

It’s time to go back to the future with the extra-terrestrial trio Hyper Crush, live and direct from Los Angeles' gr8-1-8 area code, gracing us with their presence due to a malfunction with their flux-capacitor. Real genius Donny Fontaine and intergalactic beauty Holly Valentine handle the vocals while the group’s very own Doc Brown, Preston Moronie, mans the boards. The trio
have been banging out tracks together since high school and are now ready for domination.

***Dev***

There’s an image we all have of the small town girl following her dreams and moving to Los Angeles, only to have the City of Angels chew her up and spit her out. This is not the case with Dev. This small town girl has fangs; and she’s come to L.A. on a mission to take it to the top.
A native to Cali’s central valley who now resides in Los Angeles, Dev’s music is no nostalgia trip. This is the sound of right now; from the streets to the club to the bedroom, Dev’s music is a fun, sexy mishmash of pop, R&B, dance and hip-hop, all delivered with a distinctive, unique voice.
That voice belongs to a self-described outsider. “I love Los Angeles, but I’m not really part of any scene,” says Dev. Living in a city full of followers and going your own way might seem paradoxical, but that’s what Dev is all about. She’s a small town girl with a big city attitude. In her lyrics you’ll hear someone who is cocky, deviant, sarcastic and at the same time, incredibly sweet and honest.
Along with collaborators The Cataracs (who are also artists, themselves), who discovered Dev and nurtured her talent, she has carved her own sound by creating her own world.
That happens with both sound and vision. “Visuals are almost as important as music for me,” says Dev. She continues, “Growing up, that was always my favorite thing about my favorite artists.”
When watching the hypnotic video for “Booty Bounce” you get the impression that you are watching the next great pop star blossom right before your eyes, even if you can barely keep your eyes on her; with the hyper-speed cuts and countless costume changes giving you a thousand versions of the same artist.
Dev’s visual sensibility is accentuated by her collaboration with the fashion label Hellz-Bellz, who sponsor Dev and have a hand in her look. So when you see Dev onstage, rocking out routines that she has planned out with her DJ, Havoc, she’s likely rocking Hellz-Bellz threads.
This now-you-see-her-now-your-don’t quality exists in Dev’s music as well. On songs like “Booty Bounce” and “Fireball,” she rap-sings over pulsating R&B-electro beats, imploring the listener to party with her, while maintaining a charismatic, enigmatic distance; like you see her across the room but can’t quite reach out to her.
The whole picture on who Dev really is will be clear soon. “I feel like my album will have a lot of different sounds and speeds.” With guidance being provided by Indie-Pop (home of The Cataracs) and RPM MSC (the management company that counts LMFAO as members of their stable), she is being primed for greatness.
Get ready to take a ride with a whole new kind of California girl. Dev is dead set for world domination—it’s in her rhymes, her swag, her clothes, her videos and her attitude—but she’s still the same old Dev from next door.

***The Cataracs***

Barely old enough to drink legally, The Cataracs have developed a sound truly their own. A group, as well as a production duo, their music touches on elements of pop, r&b, hip hop, rock, and dance music, with only one thing remaining constant...the unique personalities which make up The Cataracs. After becoming local celebrities in San Francisco thanks to their infamous "Technohop Dance Parties", the Cata boys have continued to cultivate a worldwide following transcending cultural and racial boundaries, though always remaining true to their core fanbase...teenage girls. In the past year, The Cataracs have rocked clubs around the world with their high energy dance set, signed a record deal with Universal Republic, and produced records for some of the biggest artists in popular music. Expect great things from these young future superstars.

***Trevor Simpson***

The entertainment and electronic music bug bit Trevor Simpson at a very young age. He started DJing and producing events at the tender age of 14 in Boulder Colorado. In 1997 Trevor founded Torque Productions, an underground event production company and clothing label. Later that year Trevor moved to San Francisco and quickly gained a devoted following as one of the city’s fresh new house DJs. Over the years Trevor held many prominent positions as resident DJ for Mixed Elements production company as well as clubs such as the legendary 1015 Folsom. In 2005 Trevor Simpson became the music director for Energy 92.7FM, San Francisco’s Pure Dance radio station. At Energy 92.7 Trevor mixed house music daily at 6pm for the drive home and then took over as on-air personality and host from 7pm-midnight. Trevor has now moved his award winning mix show “The Clubbers Commute” to Wild 94.9, the number one rated station in San Francisco airing the best in global house music for two hours every Friday night for the drive home from the clubs!

As a producer Trevor has remixed tracks for Lady Gaga, M.I.A., Jason Derulo, LMFAO, Oscar G, and had the best selling mix of the #1 Billboard smash “Push n Pull” by Sylvia Tosun. Trevor has released five “World Town” CDs that have become staples in cars and iPods all over the world, and four major label mix CDs on Ultra Records including Ultra Dance 8, which sold over 80,000 copies.

Trevor Simpson, along with fiancée Mariam, produces his signature monthly event “World Town” at Ruby Skye, San Francisco’s premier nightclub and concert venue. World Town has seen some of the biggest DJs, artists, and live performers in dance music including: Tiesto, Lady Gaga, David Guetta, Kaskade, Fedde Le Grande, Luciana Live, DJ Chuckie, Mischa Daniels, Funkerman, Stonebridge, Morgan Page, JJ Flores and Steve Smooth, Dave Dresden, Andy Caldwell, and resident DJ Trevor Simpson.

The future is bright for Trevor Simpson as the USA’s next big electronic music star. His first full-length album will be finished in June and boasts features from some of the best-known names in dance music. World Town is also expanding to new markets including San Diego, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Denver and Cabo San Lucas in the summer of 2010. Trevor’s ability to blend all aspects of dance and pop music in to a set that retains underground credibility is infectious, and is the future of the global sound.
